Military Career

 

Coast Guard Academy

Attended the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT from 1990-1994, Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Involved in Crew my freshman year and baseball my sophomore through senior years.


US Coast Guard Cutter Steadfast

Served on the USCGC Steadfast stationed in Astoria, OR as a Deck Watch Officer and Federal Law Enforcement Officer from 1994-1996. I was appointed as the Weapon's Officer, First Lieutenant, and Boarding Officer.


Navy Flight Training

Received my Wings from Navy Flight Training in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christi, TX from 1996-1997.


Coast Guard Air Station Miami, FL

Served as a Search and Rescue and Law Enforcement Pilot at CG Air Station Miami from 1997-2001.


Navy Training Squadron Thirty-One

Served as an Instructor Pilot from 2001 to 2006 at Navy Training Squadron Thirty-One in Corpus Christi, TX. Trained Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Marine Corp pilots to serve on the military aviation front lines.


Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi, TX

Served again as a Search and Rescue Pilot in the Falcon 20 in Corpus Christi, TX from 2006-2008. Flew on numerous high profile missions including first on-scene for Hurricane Katrina and Rita in 2005. 


Navy Training Squadron Thirty-One

Served again as an Instructor Pilot from 2009 to 2013 at Navy Training Squadron Thirty-One in Corpus Christi, TX. 


U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC

Served for only 1 year at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters at the new Department of Homeland Security facility. Retired in 2014 as a Commander (O-5) from active military duty.
